DMPS School-Based Health Clinics

Services for All Students

DMPS houses two school-based health clinics located at Hoover High School and the Kurtz Opportunity Center, along with a dental clinic at Kurtz. These clinics provide health-related services for all students at Â鶹¹û¶³ Moines Public Schools. Please see the information below for more details, including how to make an appointment.


PRIMARY HEALTH CARE CLINIC
Primary Health Care (PHC) is a non-profit community health center providing basic health care services for students.

The Primary Health Care Clinics at Hoover High School, East High School, and the Kurtz Opportunity Center provide students with vaccinations, health and sports physicals, acute care, reproductive healthcare, and well-baby checks for children of pregnant/ parenting students.

All insurance is accepted, including Title 19. Sliding and set fee options are available.

In addition to the quality health care students receive, Primary Health Care staff members assist families in obtaining insurance, establishing a health home, and confirming if vaccinations are up to date.

DENTAL CARE CLINIC
The Nolden Gentry Dental Clinic, operated by Primary Health Care located at the Kurtz Opportunity Center, is a critical asset in meeting oral health care needs and creating a seamless system of accessible, affordable care for DMPS students.

The Nolden Gentry Dental Clinic allows students to receive regular dental care and more in-depth care such as on-site root canals.

In addition to the services provided at the Nolden Gentry Dental Clinic, Primary Health Care conducts dental screenings at all DMPS elementary schools and screens all eighth graders to assist families transitioning to high school in meeting the state screening requirement.
