CREATIVITY NIGHT 2025!
On January 27, more than 75 Advanced Learning Program families bundled up against the cold and headed over to Central Campus for Creativity Night! Upon their arrival, they were given a seemingly random collection of materials; images of a completed rubber-band racer; information about KINETIC ENERGY, POTENTIAL ENERGY, AND ENGINEERING; and just a few troubleshooting tips. From there… well, the only other available resource was their own creativity, as they attempted to build their own racers! A few were ready to put theirs to the test before leaving Central that night, while others took extra materials home, where they continued to test their ingenuity with additional tweaks to their design concept. One mom even took time to e-mail ALP Consultant Carolyn Taylor two nights later: a colorful photo of her daughter’s final product, with the triumphant news that the learning had, in fact, continued at home, as that CD-wheeled racer was now, indeed, capable of movement! Score!

Enrichment Opportunities and Photos from 2022-23!

In October 2022, more than 250 ALP families participated in STRATEGIC GAME NIGHT! Students and family members played Chess, Rummikub, Othello, Scrabble, Jenga, Suduko, Cribbage, and many more board games in the Central Campus cafeteria. Many students learned new games, while others honed their skills on games they already enjoyed. ÌýIt was a fun night and a great way to enrich both learning and community.Ìý

In January 2023, the Advanced Learning Program offered SHOWCASE! to their students and their families. This event celebrated the students’ interests and new learning for the past month. Each child created a visual display and presented what they learned to a variety of audiences. The best part of the whole night was seeing the passion in the students’ eyes when they shared their project. PRICELESS!
